Climb Mount Sinai through the night and watch the sun rise over the mountains of the Sinai from the summit, one of the most memorable experiences in Egypt. The trip leaves Sharm El Sheikh in the evening and brings you back the next day around lunchtime.
You're picked up around 20:00 and travel overnight in an air-conditioned vehicle to the foot of the mountain, where you meet your local Bedouin guide. The climb starts around 02:00 and takes about 2–3 hours, depending on your pace. Camels can carry you for the first part of the path at extra cost, but the last 750 steps to the summit are on foot. At the top, you watch the sunrise and the view over the surrounding peaks before walking back down.
Around 07:00 you visit St Catherine's Monastery at the foot of the mountain, one of the oldest working Christian monasteries in the world, and see the famous Burning Bush, before the drive back to your hotel, arriving around 13:00–13:30. The price of €30 per adult includes hotel transfers, an Egyptian tour guide, the Bedouin mountain guide and the entrance fees.
